The Older Boys

These are the older boys in our DOVE Missions program that range from age 14-17. In many cases, these boys are the "men of the house" and are needed to provide for their mothers, grandmothers, and younger siblings. They have been forced to grow up too quickly. Knowing how badly their families depend on them, we focus mostly on teaching them english. Here in Puerto Plata, the knowledge of english can be very helpful in finding a job. In the future, we are going to work on teaching them a trade.
